- Sometimes we can read into scripture things that the scripture doesn’t say.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
- This passage from Romans doesn’t say “all good things”, it says “all things”.
- When God says all things work together for good, he doesn’t mean all good things. He means ALL things and all means all.
- God takes ashes and makes beauty. He doesn’t take nothing and make beauty.
Romans 8:29-30, “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.”
- This passage shows us that if it isn’t good, it isn’t the end.
- God created time but he doesn’t live in time. Heaven lives in God, God doesn’t live in heaven.
- Joseph’s dream, slavery, and imprisonment all worked in favor for him. He needed the process to learn humility. He needed the process to become the leader he was called to be.
- God was making Joseph the man he needed to be so that when he entered the palace he would have the character to stay there.
Romans 8:37, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
- You can’t conquer what you refuse to confront.
- It is concerning that in the name of faithfulness, many people are waiting by the dry brook of expired prophetic words hoping that it will rain and dying of thirst. It’s time to ask for a new word!
- Sometimes the “all things” gets mixed up because we don’t stay connected to the Lord.
- There are expiration dates on certain prophetic words and once it is expired, be faithful to a new word because God is doing a new thing.
Hebrews 5:8 “Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.”
- Sometimes “all things work together for good” means we are learning obedience.
- You can’t surprise God and he’s right in the middle of the situation with you.
- Vision gives purpose to pain.
