Colossians 3:1-2 , “Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.”
Living in the information age, we are so aware of what is going on in the world all around us. There is a pull to focus on the things of the world instead of the things above. Sometimes, things that are common are not normal. Sometimes things are so prevalent that we normalize things that are not normal, but common.
Luke 8:18 , “So take care how you listen;” Be careful how you listen. We often question what we see, but not how we see. You don’t see the world the way it is, but the way you are.
When I was in ground school, they would always tell us each week about spatial disorientation. It’s when pilots feel like the plane is upside down and losing altitude, when reality is the plane is right side up and level. Often, pilots crash because they don’t trust their gauges, but trust how they feel. In the same way, we often believe our feelings instead of the “gauges” God has given us.
Romans 12:2 , “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
7 Symptoms of a Transformed Mind:
When and where I’m weak, He’s strong. I tend to engage Him where I know I’m weak. I don’t have a perfect life, but I like how God made me. I don’t have to lay awake at night wishing I was somewhere else. It’s ok to like yourself!
You can’t be arrogant and thankful at the same time. I don’t get confident without being thankful.
God sends Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh. The sorcerers threw down their staffs and they became snakes . They were able to duplicate the miracle of God. The sorcerers could duplicate the first 5 plagues. The enemy can’t stop the move of God, so he tries to distort it. When God moves, there are always fakers, liars, and deceivers.
Mark 8:15 , “And He was giving orders to them saying, ‘Watch out! Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.”
We have to get involved in the process, we can’t run away from it. We can bring a kingdom mindset and not get caught up in the religious and political spirits.
