BEING TRANSFORMED FROM THE INSIDE OUT

 Kris Vallotton | Aug 26, 2020
Do you know what God thinks about you? In this podcast, I teach about God transforming us from the inside out. When we receive Jesus, God doesn’t just forgive our sins, but changes our nature. I want to encourage you today that you are a completely new creation!

BEING TRANSFORMED FROM THE INSIDE OUT PODCAST NOTES

God can transform anything! It doesn’t matter where you are in life, God can bring transformation out of any situation.

2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” When we received Jesus, He didn’t just forgive our sins, he changed our nature. When we received Jesus, we received His divine nature.

It’s important to know who we are and who God thinks we are. If what you think God thinks of you is not what God actually thinks of you, then you become what you think God thinks of you instead of what He actually thinks of you. What we think about ourselves matters! It’s important to call ourselves what God calls us.

Our old man has actually died (see Romans 6:8). Some people end up sinning by faith because of what they were taught. But sin was broken by the power of the cross. 1 John 3:6, “No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.”

Mercy means you didn’t get what you deserved. That means you have to know you deserved judgement in order to get mercy. We all need mercy!

I am not the temptations I resist, I am the values I embrace. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” It’s not a sin to be tempted! Noble character doesn’t mean I’m not tempted, it means I choose my values over my temptations.
